Sex is never to be witheld in a marriage? Really? Even if the sex is repulsive to the woman? Even if it is painful to the woman? Even if it makes her feel like she is being raped and used every single time they have sex? I’m not sure I can agree with that one. And I AM a Christian who wants a good marriage. But how can I give my husband sex when understanding and love are the only things that make me want to have sex - and he gives neither. Isn’t sex supposed to be enjoyable to BOTH partners? Why is it that only HE gets the enjoyment, and I am told to be submissive?

My problem is that my wife puts our oldest son before anything else in our life.
I am last. No matter how bad he is and does things that are immoral and illegal, she says she is supposed to have infinate patience with him. But she is intolerant of my putting rules on the kids. Are there any books out there about wives who focus on kids and put them number 1, but the father and husband is laston priority list? thanks for any help.

what we men want is respect and honesty,some time wife should do those things she was doing before marriage,let the home be fun and with sweet voice.then the heart of the husband will keep on coming back to her

Wee, it is beautiful to hear these words, but not all husbands are the same. I’ve tried to be submitted to him, but he keeps looking for wrongs in me. I wonder how can a wife still be submitted if the husband gets another affair.

I think certain words like “submit” have a negative connotation these days. This article makes sense, but the bible terms used have been misconstrued these days. There’s obviously an attempt here to relate those terms to their applicable meanings of today. “Mutual” is definitely the key point here, which poses the question, “What do you do and how long should one be patient if you’re the only one giving the mutual respect/love?”

I apologize we are fighting right now so I am a bit close minded. I just thought the article was a little strong on the submission part. I only “withhold” when he is angry that the house isnt perfect when he comes home. And that frustrates me when I only get home 2 hours before him with our 3 young kids. I feel like give me a break. I am not Super Woman although I try to be. So anyway that is where my frustration comes from. I didn’t mean to downplay your article. I do feel like you have touched on some very good points. I will try to be more enlightened.

“Walk behind your husband and pick up after him?” I don’t know where you are getting that. I am talking about mutual submission, love and respect.

If your husband is disrespectful to you, then he is wrong. If you are disrespectful to him, then you are wrong.

Withholding sexual intimacy is always wrong in marriage.

I don’t think you read my article with an open mind.
